Baloyi from Charlton Athletics Club is the winner of the men’s 42.2km race with a time of 02:29:08. Emmanuel Ramohlale from Pietersburg Athletics Club obtained second place with a time of 02:29:20 and Modine Mamabolo from University of Limpopo Athletics Club (UL) finished third in a time of 02:42:44. Raphahla from Polokwane Athletics Club is the 42.2km women’s winner, with a time of 03:20:58.
She was followed by Jane Mudau from Nedbank Running Club with the time of 03:52:25 and Gift Ramabele from Maxed Elite Club was in third place with the time of 04:17:09. The men’s 21.1km race was won by Mothopi Maltjie from Maxed Elite Limpopo with a time of 01:11:33 and Annanius Masila from UL and Rufus Photo from Black Diamond Athletics Club were second and third respectively with 01:12:58 and 01:14:52 on the clock.
In the women’s half-marathon Mamala Maponya from UL outshined her competitors with a time of 01:36:45, in second place was Zanel Chauke from Runners of Hope with a time of 02:04:49 and third was Nomusa Mangange from Malamulele Athletics Club with the time of 02:08:53. The winners of the 10km men’s race were Given Mokgoba from UL with a time of 31:26 and Madibalo Mogano in the women’s race with a time of 43:20. Mokgoba has been shining in 10km races in Limpopo recently.

This is his third win in the last month after winning the Mall of the North Marathon and PMC Marula. The marathon winners each received an R5000 cash prize, while the half-marathon winners took home R3000 each. Winners of 10km won R1800 and those in the top three places took home cash prizes. Joel Malwandla, secretary of Gallopers Athletics Club, told the Herald that as organisers they were pleased with the turnout of participants and that the event was a great success. The race will again be hosted next year, Malwandla said.
