Ezekhaya Tournament a thrilling affair

CCV Jomo FC was crowned the soccer champions of the 2022 Ezekhaya Soccer and Netball Tournament at Hunters Sports Ground recently.

The team from Makhwibidung emerged victorious after winning in penalties against Maxakeni FC.
As a winning team they took home a whopping R20 000 in prize money and medals.
The losing team in the finals was consoled by a cheque of R10 000.
Meanwhile in netball, Nkowankowa City Rabblers were R7000 richer after smashing Leswika Classics in the finals.
The losers were consoled by R3000 in prize money.

Coach and team manager for Rabblers, Edwina Mlondobozi, told the Herald that she was happy with her girls’ performance and added that the prize money came in handy as it allowed them to buy items that were needed in the team.
Vongani Mkhari, organiser of the event, told the Herald that they are planning to make the games an annual event.
He believes this will help them unearth the hidden talent in the Tzaneen area.
Player of the Tournament, Sello Basera from CCV won R4000, while the Top Goal Scorer, Guxexe won R2500 and the Coach of the Tournament, Peremose was awarded R3000.
