Impact Players takes the trophy

Despite the rainy weather, spirits remained high throughout Saturday’s cricket tournament.

Seven teams battled out over 14 hours for top spot, and it was Impact Players who took home the trophy beating the Badgers by 113 runs. Ruan Erasmus, captain of Impact Players was delighted by him teams’ performance at the game. “If you play for the love of the game, you will always be a winner. It all about the passion for what you do, and my team is truly passionate about cricket and they proved that by becoming victorious at the end of the game,” he said. The Badgers captain Leo Bargiacchi was very grateful for the opportunity to be back to playing sports and aims to do better at the next event.

“What a great turn out at the Scales Arena at Thirsty Giraffe this weekend and once again we are grateful to be back playing sport and having support from family and friends. “Badgers was really a mixed team of Hoedspruiters, two from Phalaborwa and two from Tzaneen. The combos worked well as the Badgers reached the finals winning four out of five games but unfortunately we fell short in the last over buy a couple of runs. We thank the Scales team for organising these events to keep the community busy and we cannot wait for the next event,” he said.
