‘Not for the faint hearted’

Renowned for being the toughest road race in Limpopo, the Tuffy is set to return in March after two years.

The Spar Tzaneen Tuffy 4-in-1 Marathon is a popular marathon on the road running calendar and is supported widely, not only by locals but also by runners from as far as Gauteng. It will be held on Saturday March 5.
“It is considered an excellent training run to prepare for the Comrades with a difficulty rating of 5,” said Paul Saayman of the Tzaneen Marathon Club, organisers of the Tuffy.

The Tuffy starts and finishes at Lombards Avocado on the Old Coach House Road in Agatha.
“Along the circular route, you will find views of the Wolkberg mountains, Tzaneen Dam and Politsi valley.”
Prospective participants are asked to enter early as only 250 runners per distance will be allowed. Entries close on February 13. Only online entries will be accepted. To enter, go to the Spar Tzaneen Tuffy Facebook page and follow the link from there, or visit the peaktiming.co.za page.
