10 men Acornbush faced giants

The Nedbank Cup quarter finals saw Acornbush United face Kaizer Chiefs at Kabokweni stadium recently.

The opening four minutes of the game saw back-to-back corners with Chiefs threatening Acornbush.

Despite that, the Acornbush goalkeeper dealt with the pressure effortlessly.

Acornbush was determined to score as efforts of finding the back of the net was visible as their presence was felt by Chiefs.

Clean play was displayed by Mduduzi Nkosi as he managed to make his way past Itumeleng Khune one-on-one but somehow failed to put the ball at the back of the net.

28 minutes into the game the Davids of the game (Acornbush) saw themselves facing Goliath (Kaizer Chiefs) with only 10 men following what seemed to be a safe challenge on Willard Katsande.

Despite the turn of events Mudzunga Sidumo headed the ball home, past Kune just before the closing of the first half.

The second half saw various players receiving medical attention as players collided in the first nine minutes.

These breaks seemed to work miracles for Acornbush as Chiefs seemed even more desperate for a goal in the second half.

However the giants finally found the back of the net as Paez neatly fired the ball past the goalkeeper.

A few minutes later working together with Bernard Parker Paez then added another goal to the Kaizer Chiefs score.
