Police hunt suspect in Tzaneen campus rape

Police are searching for a suspect who attacked and raped multiple students at a Bolobedu campus, fleeing with valuables.

TZANEEN – Police in Tzaneen and Kgapane are searching for a suspect who allegedly attacked and raped students at a Bolebedu campus before fleeing the scene with some of their valuables.

Reports suggest that on Saturday, February 22 at about 23:10, the students were asleep at a college residence in Bolobedu when a 20-year-old girl went outside to fetch water when she was accosted by a man wearing a black balaclava.

She screamed for help and the suspect then instructed eight students to undress. Four of them between 20 and 21 years old, were selected and raped.

After the rape ordeal, two cellphones were robbed.

The suspect left the scene on foot.
