LIMPOPO – In a heartwarming gesture of support, Sassa donated 140 school uniforms to Pondo Combined School in Lulekani on Friday, January 17, benefitting learners from families who are struggling to provide for their children’s educational needs.
“I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the uniform donation we have received. Seeing our learners wearing the uniforms just brings so much joy to my heart,” Pondo Combined School principal Nokthula Khoza.
She added that the school is situated in a township where many parents and guardians struggle to provide for their families and have long faced the challenge of ensuring that every learner has the necessary resources for education. The generous contribution from Sassa will help bridge the gap and allow learners to attend school with confidence and pride.
The school received a total of 140 uniform packs, which will go a long way in alleviating the financial burden faced by many families. “These uniforms have improved our learners’ self-esteem. As the saying goes, ‘If you look good, you feel good, and if you feel good, you do good.’ I am just hoping the learners will perform much better,” said the principal.
Khoza extended a heartfelt thank you to Sassa for their generous donation. “On behalf of the school management, teachers, learners, and parents, I would like to thank Sassa for these uniforms. These will go a long way in ensuring that learning and teaching take place without some learners feeling insecure,” she concluded.
