Did Moshikaro really walk over 400km from Joburg to Tzaneen?

After his dare went viral on social media over the past weekend, the question on everyone's lips is: Did Mashikaro Moagi walk from Joburg to Tzaneen?

TZANEEN – Moshikaro Moagi, a die hard Kaizer Chiefs fan, trended online after he swore to walk from Johannesburg to Tzaneen if his team lost to Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday at the FNB Stadium.

Moagi was pictured on television with a sign that read “If Sundowns beat us tonight, I will walk from JHB to Tzaneen” causing him to trend on the popular social media site X.

Unfortunately, Sundowns smashed Amakhosi 4-0, forcing them out of the Carling Black Label Cup.

Moagi told the Herald he was adamant that Chiefs would win, since they have been playing good football from the beginning of the season.

“I left the stadium before the game could end, because I saw that there was no way we could come back after a 4-0 gap. I walked from the stadium and I made sure I updated everyone on social media, about my whereabouts. I left Johannesburg at 19:10 and arrived home at 10:00am the next day,” he said.

Despite him insisting that he walked all the way back to Tzaneen, people on social media said there was no way he could walk that much distance in such a short space of time.

However he admitted to the Herald that there were times where he would get in the car in areas where he did not feel safe.

Moagi often went live to update those keeping track, especially when he reached toll gates, convenient stores and also when he arrived in Boyne, outside Polokwane.

He says he was treated to a foot massage by his wife Mamikie Moagi when he arrived home and that he rested the entire day after the long journey.

The superfan is from Lenyenye says his love for Chiefs dates back to 1992, when players such as Lucas Radebe and Doctor Khumalo, were still part of the team.

He has many titles to his name including the current provincial secretary of the Kaizer Chiefs Fan Club, the ANC Ward 33 branch secretary and a building inspector at the Greater Tzaneen Municipality.

On Wednesday, Moagi posted that should President-elect Donald Trump lose the elections in the USA, he would walk from Tzaneen to America, a feat he said would only take him a month.
