Malwana Primary learners enjoy wildlife sightings at Koru Camp

Koru Camp's Joel Sithole brings environmental education to his hometown schools, fostering a love for nature in young minds.

LIMPOPO – Joel Sithole, a field ranger at Koru Camp, has started an initiative to give back to the schools and community he grew up in.

Koru Camp welcomed learners from Malwana Primary where they were treated to enviro-games, lessons by the river, storytime next to campfires and even a lioness close to camp.

“I want to extend my sincere gratitude and thanks to the sponsors who helped fund my dream of taking children from my childhood schools to Koru Camp. Having the children here at Koru gives me hope that maybe one child will go back home and want to do better for the environment as I did many moons ago. Thank you for making it possible for me to reach out to the young kids from my community,” said Sithole.
