Health MEC visits Tzaneen taxi ranks

Limpopo Health Department intensifies efforts to combat malaria and bilharzia outbreaks through awareness and prevention.

TZANEEN – Limpopo Health MEC Dieketseng Mashego visited the Tzaneng Mall and Tzaneen Crossing taxi ranks to launch a health campaign targeting three major ailments.

The campaign focuses on malaria control, bilharzia prevention, and promoting free circumcision.

The MEC urged communities to open their homes for malaria control programmes, emphasising the importance of prevention measures.

The department is also spearheading a bilharzia awareness campaign after an outbreak which affected areas in the Greater Tzaneen Municipality (GTM).

The department is also offering circumcisions for boys aged 10 and above free of charge. Parents are encouraged to register their sons for the programme at any hospital in the district.
