International star, Master KG joins Dzumeri Spring Festival

"The purpose was to bring high-quality entertainment to the villages of Dzumeri by headlining an international artist, Master KG.”

Dzumeri outside Giyani was buzzing with activity on August 31 with residents preparing for the very first Spring Festival to be hosted in their area. “The event was organised by a group of friends from Dzumeri, representing two companies, 5R Group, a music and events company for over 10 years, and Makhobani Enterprise, specialising in event planning and management for over three years,” said Kayla Serekela, the event marketer.

“Our goal was to bring people together and offer them a unique musical experience they had never had in the area. We also wanted to showcase a mix of artists from different genres to cater to a diverse audience. The event fulfilled its purpose, as the crowd had a fantastic time, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive,” Serekela said, saying the turnout exceeded their expectations.

“Many were skeptical that we could pull off an event with a big artist like Master KG, but once it started, it shocked a lot of people. For a first-time event, it was a huge success. As much as this was our first event, it definitely won’t be the last.”

“We’re already planning future events and aim to make them even bigger and better,” she added. Serekela said that the biggest challenge they faced was getting a mix of artists from different genres to satisfy a broad audience.

“I would also like to send a special thanks to Tshinya Vantshwa as one of the people who helped us promote the event he was also part of the artists but helped us a lot with the event,” she added.

“We also didn’t have any sponsors, so we had to rely on personal savings, however, we managed to overcome these obstacles, and the event was a success. The event was hosted at Dorhill Hotel because it’s centrally located and easily accessible, even for those without transportation.”

“While it was an excellent venue, we may explore other locations depending on the needs and scale of future events,” she concluded. They said that they are still in need of sponsors, and anyone interested in sponsoring them can contact 081 343 3000.
