Golden Parkrun milestone for Wilken

The weekly 5km walk and run presented by Hoedspruit parkrun saw 43 participants last weekend with Gerhard Wilken achieving a milestone at this event.

Wilken completed his 100th parkrun of which most were run in Hoedspruit at the Protrack training grounds situated on the R40. Matthew Sussens, a regular runner at Hoedspruit Parkrun took first place overall completing the route in 22:37.

The first woman to cross the finish line was Kimberly Spence with a time of 29:43. Seven runners also completed the route in a personal best time. Dale Gould, Veronika Meleshko, Joshua Wall, Laird Gould, Nadia Horley, Rupert Horley and Cathy Griffen each recorded a personal best time.

Hoedspruit Parkrun thanked their volunteers of the day Donovan Botha, Michelle Cochrane, Kelly Conradie, Harriet Kendrick, Ilse Krige and Ruvimbo Ngwarai led by Donovan Wilkes for their time and support and also thanked Protrack for the course, Thirsty Giraffe, Discovery Vitality and parkrun SA.
