Stars entertain crowd at Marula Festival in Phalaborwa

The 18th Marula open-air concert was a great success with thousands of musical lovers attending the event on Saturday at the Impala Park Stadium.

Queen of Limpopo, Makhadzi, never disappoints with her energy and dance moves performing some of her greatest hits such as Matorokosi and Morago. The Metro FM Female Artist of the Year also introduced her upcoming single, Number One. The 62-year-old Penny Penny also brought his A-game singing his famous hits such as Bum Bum and Milandzu Be.

He was accompanied by three female dancers who kept the crowd moving to the beat. Mabrino Drummerboys were a breath of fresh air with the duo entertaining music lovers with their drumming and DJ skills. Other artists included Master KG, Amos, Dr Winnie Mashaba, Pleasure Tsa Manyalo, and local artists such as PHB Finest, Motlanalo, and DLS among others.

Several DJs hyped the crowd with their song selections such as DJ Bash from Capricorn FM, DJ Sweeto and DJ Malwela. The concert ended on a high note when King Monada started his performance just after 05:00, concluding his performance a few minutes before 06:00 on Sunday.

MCs included Muvhango actors, Gabriel Temudzani and Sydney Ramakuwela. Big Brother South Africa housemate, Yolanda Munyai, also led part of the programme followed by Geb and many other MCs. The Herald received no reports of incidences or injuries during the event.
