Chance to re-write Gr 12

The Department of Education is allowing anyone who wants to re-write their Gr 12 and better their results, with a programme called Second Chance.

Applications for the programme are open and close on Friday, February 9.To register, the following documents are needed: a completed registration form; a certified copy of an ID or birth certificate, or a passport for foreign candidates. Repeater candidates must provide a copy of their previous highest qualification and those who have written the Gr12 exam before, need to provide the examination number.

Adult learners who are 21 years and older who have a general education and training certificate or a Gr 9 report (old standard 7) or a statement stating that they have passed Gr 9, or adult learners with an incomplete senior certificate qualify for the programme.

Learners between the ages of 18 to 21 who due to exceptional circumstances could not complete the qualification due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control and verified by the department, also qualify.

Candidates may register themselves at any provincial education office (circuit, provincial office, or district office) or register online at www.eservices.gov.za. For enquiries call 015 290 7627.
