Pilusa thrives in rally sport

After so many years of being behind the wheel, Peter Pilusa, shows no sign of slowing down as he continues to win rally races.

He attained second position overall in the 2023 National Rally Championships for WOMZA in class D recently. Although in 2023 he did not compete in many races, he only raced in three events, but he managed to accumulate eight trophies for the year. His first race for 2023 was the Pan Bult in Piet Retief where he managed to attain position one and two in his class.

In August during the National Rally Championships in Tzaneen he managed to attain third position in his class. In September he was on fire he won first position in Ermelo. This year his navigator was Caroline Marampepe, who helped him navigate the different routes. He drives a 1991 Nissan Sentra, which has helped him win many races.

The man from Shiluvana village, outside Tzaneen told the Herald that his love for motor cars started when he was still in high school. When he is not racing, he oversees his business and training centre, called Vision Automotive Training and Repairs in the Tzaneen Industrial area. He is calling on more young people and people of colour in particular to embrace the sport, because he believes it is for all people. He is on a mission to train young people who wants to get into the sport.
