New ICT hub gives hope to Tzaneen people

The community of Tzaneen and surrounding areas will no longer struggle to get access to information, communication and technology (ICT) services and support.

This is after the opening of the Hope Givers Foundation ICT Hub. The hub is located at Muhlava village on the R36 road outside Tzaneen. The foundation, started by social entrepreneur and philanthropist, Tsakani Mkhari, is part of the presidential ICT and business support programme and aims to support small businesses after the Covid-19 pandemic.

It assists existing businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs with the registration of companies and applying for funding through its incubation programme. They also offer office space for businesses that cannot afford to rent their own premises. Mkhari, the face of Hope Givers Foundation, is a non-profit company with projects such as ‘Girls with Purpose’ and ‘Raising Legends’ among others. Girls with Purpose aims to support women and girls in day-to-day issues affecting them.

Mkhari was born in Namakgale and raised in Gauteng for most of her life, but now calls Tzaneen her home. She is a mother of two girls, Nsovo and Lwandle. She is also known as the younger sister of radio personality and media entrepreneur, Given Mkhari.
