LIMPOPO – Christmas message from Mr Jinghua Han, the CEO of Palabora Mining company (PMC):

One of the greatest gifts a company can have is dedicated, focused, and committed employees.

On behalf of PMC’s executive management team, I would like to express our sincere appreciation for your effortless contributions throughout the year.

We can all attest to the fact that 2022 was a year of rebuilding, resilience, and growth.

Once again, it is that time of the year to have a moment to reflect on the goals that we set out to achieve at the beginning of the year.

We analyze on how we have performed as a business, made an impact within our host communities and employees.

The Christmas recess period for many people is a favorite holiday with a unique meaning, a time for family and sharing all over the continent.

For me personally, it is time to reflect on what I have achieved personally, as well as here at PMC.

We are proud of what we achieved as PMC throughout the year, and we appreciate all the hard work, patience, and dedication that all of our employees and contractors put in as PMC family for the sustenance of the business.

To the community of Ba-Phalaborwa, we are truly grateful for your continued support in making sure the infrastructure development investment is well received and appreciated by the community at large.

We could not have done it without our biggest stakeholder, the community, and we pride ourselves by saying ‘Together Building a Sustainable Future’ because of you.

We strive to ensure that our communities are empowered in order to alleviate poverty, unemployment, and inequality.

We want to express our warmest gratitude to the employees and stakeholders at PMC that accompanied us throughout the 2022 journey because together as a team, we have drafted a blueprint for 2023 and the future.

The festive season is not the time to let our guard down, but a time to be vigilant and put all the safety education we received throughout the year to good use.

If you travel during this time, please drive safely, do not drink and drive, and lastly, remember to khumbul’ekhaya.

Your family needs you home safe and so do we!

If you are working over the season, take care and be extra careful on the road and at work.

Please keep safe and we look forward to see all of you in 2023, re-energized and focused.

We wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2023.
