Invitation: Join the Plasie Jol this weekend in Tzaneen

When Merensky Agricultural Academy decided to welcome their new grade 8’s of 2023, they decided to do it in style ... and everyone is invited!

On Friday, October 28 from 17:00 and on Saturday, October 29 from 09:30, the school will present their first ever Plasie Jol, an event that is set to become a regular on the local calendar. The line-up of events will thrill and inform, entertain and captivate visitors. One of the big attractions for the weekend is the Silent Disco planned for Friday evening in the school hall.

The event is open to all learners of all schools in grades 7-12 at R100 pp. The school says 500 earphones are available for the event and participants will be able to jump between three music genres: R&B/house music, Afrikaans sokkie, and rock/pop. Another of their great events is a Fun Park on Saturday from 10:00-16:00. For R90 entry you can enjoy: • Rock climbing • Parachute rocket • Dodge ball • Pedal Karts • Mechanical surfboard • Water walkers • Bungee trampoline • Gladiator chair.

On Saturday at 10:00, the grade 8 learners of next year will and their parents will attend an information session. Agri-Merensky, the agricultural leg of the school, will have a separate area where visitors will be able to enjoy their renowned whipping show at 11:00 on Saturday as well as mechanical bull rides.

A long list of exhibitors will include companies such as BioBrix, and Tzaneen 4×4, and a cheese-making demonstration and tasting. At 14:30 the new warrior area at the school will be inaugurated and the name of the area revealed. The first team competitions will also take place. At 16:00 artists will perform in the marquees’ tent. They include Ruan Josh, Jani Bay, Jezelle, Bernice West and Eloff. Make sure you do not miss out on one of the great events in Tzaneen this weekend and visit Plasie Park – as the campus of the Merensky Agricultural Academy is called.
