Attacker of break-in in Swift Street sought

One of two men who attacked a 67-year-old man during a house break-in in Phalaborwa, is still on the run.

Police in Phalaborwa say they are working tirelessly to find and arrest the fugitive after the men broke into a house in Swift Street, attacked the victim and robbed him of his belongings. “According to information received, the two suspects entered the victim’s house and assaulted him with an unknown sharp instrument on the head and tied him up with curtain ropes.

“They ransacked the house and loaded the stolen items into the victim’s Toyota Land Cruiser and drove-off. “Police and Community Policing Forum (CPF) members were notified and immediately followed the lead. They were able to spot the stolen vehicle and a chase ensued. The suspects drove at a high speed after noticing the police and on the road between Makhushane and Phalaborwa, they lost control of the vehicle.
