Wisani Burial Society inaugurates state-of-the-art building

Wisani Burial Society celebrated the establishment of their new building with a very successful opening ceremony, held in Phalaborwa on Sunday, February 5.

“We were graced by the presence of Makhushane Tribal Council, Mashishimale Tribal Council, Maseke Tribal Council, Majeje Benfarm Tribal Council, Selwane Tribal Council, Phalaborwa SAPS, Lulekani SAPS, Namakgale SAPS, provincial traffic officials and the Ba-Phalaborwa mayor, Meriam Malatji, along with her delegates.” The day was led by Sam Modiba, with whom Wisani has had a long-standing relationship, and broadcast live by the wonderful team from Phalaborwa FM.

Entertainment was provided throughout the day by our famous band, as well as a few traditional dance groups: Xigubu xa Chajara Traditional Dancers, Makatekele Traditional Segubhu, and Ncino wa Xigaza Traditional dancers. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the office, led by Wisani’s own Michael Moagi, with the mayor, Meriam Malatji at his side, followed by a tour of the new building, where after the guests returned to the main event. As a final gift to guests, they had a lucky draw where they gave away three tombstones.

The lucky winners were Victoria Ngobeni, Moketi Meriam Malatji, PT Mangena. “Congratulations to them!” The day ended on a high with a delicious lunch provided by Beatrice Malatji from Ma Bee Decor & Catering, who was also responsible for the beautiful setup in the VIP tent. “Wisani and NLA would like to thank all our invited guests for attending this special day as well as the service providers who made this day possible.

“Thank you to the wonderful dancers who kept everyone entertained. We would also like to thank our loyal members, without whom our service in Phalaborwa will not be possible, and finally, our treasured employees for their hard work and dedication.”

‘Our promise is our pride’
Wisani Burial Society was established in 1995, operating from a small office in Trichardtsdal. As their client base grew, they saw the need to expand further into Limpopo, starting with Tzaneen and then moving to Soekmekaar and Giyani and finally, in 2006, to Phalaborwa. The building was small and intimate, exactly what they needed at the time. “We worked on building a strong relationship with the community over the years following the establishment of our brand in Phalaborwa.”

This led to continuous growth and after 17 years of loyal support from the Phalaborwa community, it was time to give back by building a brand new, modern office building with a mortuary, where our families can experience a dignified, top-quality service. This new building offers a spacious open-plan reception area, two private arrangement offices, two view rooms with a comfortable waiting area, a large showroom featuring the Halston Range, only available at Wisani and NLA, among other beautiful caskets and tombstones, and finally, our state-of-the-art mortuary.

Members and new customers are invited to visit the new office in Phalaborwa on Leyds Street.
