Bryan Hyland becomes new president of Letaba Lions

It was an emotional night for Bryan Hyland as he was sworn in as the new president of the Letaba Tzaneen Lions Club on Saturday, June 4 at Fairview Hotel in Tzaneen.

“It is a privilege for me to serve the Lions. To each and every member of the Letaba Tzaneen Lions Club, thank you for placing your trust in
me to guide and lead you, and I will try my best to be a good leader. Do not beat me up when I make mistakes, take me aside and tell me, then we can find a way to fix it together.

“I would also like to thank my father for making the trip to celebrate with me. I will make it my task to visit each and every one of you, it can be either for coffee or beer. My second goal is to encourage participation in this club, it is good to see people raising their hands for duty when something is proposed,” said Hyland.

He added that his third goal is to groom leadership skills and personal growth among members. He also wants to increase the club’s visibility in the community. “As Lions, we become inconspicuous at times. But we are Lions and our participation and initiatives make us stand out,” he added.

The outgoing president, Martin Froise, was happy with his successor. “We made a great choice in Bryan. It was a great honour to serve with you the past year. “I have full confidence that Bryan will continue from where I left off with dignity,” said Froise.
