Horrific crash claims nine lives on Deerpark Road
Nine people died instantly and six others escaped with injuries on Sunday when a VW Amarok bakkie collided with a Toyota Quantum.
“It is alleged that the two vehicles collided head-on, killing nine people instantly. The deceased include the driver of a VW Amarok bakkie and eight passengers from a Toyota Quantum kombi. The accident happened at Nwanetsi bridge next to Kubjwana village in Bolobedu,” said the Department of Transport and Community Safety.
Five people were rushed to Van Velden Hospital for medical treatment.

MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya has sent messages of condolences to the families of nine people who perished in the accident.
She has called on motorists to be cautious and reduce speed.
