Tzaneen health workers get Covid-19 vaccine jabs
Mediclinic Tzaneen conducted its first leg of Covid-19 vaccinations of healthcare workers recently.
A total of 308 people received the jab on the day.
Most people were excited to finally get vaccinated, especially with the third wave of infections that is widely predicted.
Onnicah Baloyi of Peacemed told the Herald that she experienced minor side effects such as headaches and back pains.
However, it was something she was expecting as they were told that they might experience some side effects for one to two days.
She later told the Herald that she is feeling fine and is without any complications.
She said she is happy with her decision to get the jab.

“I’m excited to finally to be vaccinated because we will be protected as we come into contact with Covid-19 patients.
However some health workers were feeling anxious about the widely reported side effects of the vaccine.
“I’m particularly worried about the blood clots,” explained Suzan Maakana, a Mediclinic Tzaneen nurse.
Overall people in the queue on Wednesday seemed relaxed and ready to for the vaccine.
Letaba Hospital was the first health institution in the Mopani district to vaccinate their health workers.
2000 people were vaccinated at the hospital.
Meanwhile, 654 people were vaccinated at Maphuta Malatji Hospital in Phalaborwa.
Nkhesani Hospital in Giyani and Dr C.N Phathudi Hospital outside Tzaneen were scheduled to receive vaccinations also.
