Local chief stabbed in foiled house robbery

Police in Sekgosese have launched a manhunt for an unknown suspect after a 60-year-old female traditional leader and a general worker were allegedly stabbed at the Royal House in Raphahlelo village during an attempted house robbery on Sunday evening.

According to police spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo the incident occurred at about 21:45.

“It is alleged that the victim accompanied the general worker to his place of residence. She returned home and was busy locking the gates when she noticed a suspicious man hiding behind the wall of the premises. She then called out for help and the worker rushed back and confronted the intruder. In the process, the suspect stabbed the two victims with a sharp object and fled the scene,” said Mojapelo.

He said police were notified and commenced with the hunt for the suspect.
