New station commander for Lulekani

A new station commander has been appointed at Lulekani Police Station in Ba-Phalaborwa municipal area.

Lt Col Alina Pinky Shingange officially started working at the station at the beginning of this month.

Shingange joined the police service in 1987 as a constable at the former homeland of Gazankulu and rose through the ranks to become a lieutenant colonel. Locally she started her official duties at Giyani Police Station’s community service centre.

She was later transferred to Waterval Police Station where she served at the support sub-component.

Due to her dedication she was transferred back to Giyani where she was placed with the Crime Prevention Unit.

Her performance ensured that she got promoted to the rank of captain at Lebowakgomo as a Social Crime Prevention coordinator.

Her vast experience within the SAPS led her to Leboeng as a station commander.

During her service at Leboeng she ensured that crime within the area drops drastically.

In 2007, she was elevated to the rank of lieutenant colonel at Hlanganani as a station commander.
