Phalaborwa farm produce available at farmers market

With the aim to build a relationship between local farmers, crafters and the community, the Department of Agriculture organised a famers market day.

Reginah Nkuna, an agri technician, and her team organised a market day at Flee Market in Namakgale recently.

Local producers and crafters came in great numbers to sell their produce to the public.

“The aim of the initiative is to create an opportunity for producers to sell their produce closer to home.

“It is also an opportunity to network with businesses such as restaurants, lodges and schools with the hope to supply them with produce,” she explained.

Nkuna told the Herald that theiy are in the process of organising another event soon where they hope to attract more people.

“Our wish is to have this kind of event once or twice a month, but the lockdown has made it challenging.

Anyone who wants to be part of the market day, can contact Reginah Nkuna on 066 079 3048.
