“Libraries are especially vulnerable to the spreading of the coronavirus. To reduce the risk to the public and our staff members, until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, only key library services will be delivered, including the checking in-and-out of books, the provision of free internet/wi-fi services, and limited study space,” said Ndlala.

He also said extensive risk mitigation plans, in line with government regulations, have been developed for each of the GTM libraries.

“Risk mitigation measures are in place at the libraries and notices with details of the measures posted at library entrances. Library staff and users must always wear masks,” he said.

To ensure safe distancing the number of library members checking books in and out; the number of study spaces and the number of library computers for use will be controlled.
