Sono, who was serving as the chairperson of Ethics Committee in the Mopani District Municipal council died on Tuesday morning.
Executive mayor of Mopani District Municipality, Pule Shayi said that the council is shocked at the sudden death of Sono.
“Councillor Sono is of a working class upbringing and has known nothing else except serving our people at the level of our municipalities in various capacities.
Our thoughts are with her family during this difficult time. On behalf of the leadership, the people of Mopani and the entire administration, we send our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and members of the African National Congress,” said Shayi.
