EFF marches to gate of Limpopo farming conglomerate

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) marched against alleged racism and exploitation of workers at ZZ2 on Friday, recently in Mooketsi outside Modjadjiskloof.

Hundreds of EFF supporters flocked to ZZ2’s main entrance gate, demanding a change in the working and living conditions of employees.

EFF provincial chairperson, Jossey Buthane, said that the protest was a sign that the party advocates for the rights of people.

“We are the cloth which wipes away the tears of our people. Buthane also said he was not impressed that the CEO was not around to meet up with them.

They further demanded that the farm give them a list of all farms they are leasing in the province and in Mopani, list of all their water rights in the district, list of all employees working at the farm and a list of all managers with their gender, race and contract conditions.

Mkhalipa further said that if they demands are not met or taken into consideration, they will return mobilising the whole province, where they will encamp in the farm.

The supporters were mostly dressed in red or EFF regalia and ranging from young people to pensioners.

A ZZ2 representative received the memorandum which he signed on behalf of the management and promised to deliver it.
