Building on hospital commences in January

Hoedspruit residents can finally breath a sigh of relief as they are about to get their very own private hospital.

The construction of the hospital which was scheduled to have commenced early this year was delayed by the pronouncement of lockdown due to Covid-19.

Project coordinator, Carien Taute from Buzz Projects and Coaching told Herald that the planned schedule of Hoedspruit Private Hospital was adjusted to accommodate the regulations enforced by the government due to the pandemic.

“With the country downgraded to level one of lockdown, we are happy to inform you that the project is well underway.

Consolidation of Hoedspruit Private Hospital’s property was successful, and Mopani District Municipality approved the site development plan of the project.

“The Department of Health Limpopo (DoH) provided feedback on the plans for the hospital, found it compliant and for final approval, only small changes were requested,” she said.

She said the updated plans were submitted on 12 October and DoH sent them an acknowledgement that they received the revised plans.

“We aim to go on tender for the bulk services before the end of the year and for construction in January 2021. The plan is for work to commence in January 2021.”

Taute said the hospital will be a full-service facility of 6,000 sq./m, offering a state-of-the-art trauma unit, radiology diagnostic facility, pathology, surgical and medical facilities, and beds as well as all key ancillary allied clinical services.
