Tzaneen faces water issues

Some parts of Tzaneen were faced with water issues following a pipe that burst recently.

Tzaneen has been experiencing water problems due to a burst pipe in George’s Valley over the past week.

According to Neville Ndlala, spokesperson of Greater Tzaneen Municipality, the disruption in water services only affected some parts of town.

“Our team has just completed repairs on the damaged pipeline and we have restarted the plant, but it will take time for the reservoir to fill up because it was totally empty,” Ndlala said last Tuesday.

“When there is a pipe burst it means we cannot distribute water to the residents but once everything is sorted, water supply resumes,” he said.

“Lower lying areas were the first to receive water, but there were areas where supply was irregular up to today.”

The areas affected are Arbor Park, Premier Park, Flora Park, New Industrial Area and King Edward Street.
