A young 23-year-old has recently taken on the gift she inherited from her father.

“Growing up, music was there. Although my late father was a Shangaan music-maker, I have found myself attracted to hip-hop,” Monica said.

She matriculated in 2016 and left her home in Morutji, Bolobedu to venture into music with Candy in Gauteng.

“I enrolled to study towards an IT qualification and that’s when I crossed paths with the lovely Candy. She featured me on one of her songs and that’s when I got signed to the record label I am working with,” she explained.

Her single will be followed by a music video which will be produced by Pex Africa and Clap Uhuru.

Monica exclaimed with excitement how happy she was that her music career is finally taking off and that she is happy with the feedback she has gotten about her song.

“I have been writing and singing for a while, but to finally have my own single has made my dream turned to reality. I cannot wait to do more music and have my name recognised among other musicians,” she concluded.
