Ronnel shines at the Miss Mamelodi Sundowns pageant

A local beauty from Nkowankowa and a former Merensky High School learner was crowned second princess in the Miss Mamelodi Sundowns beauty pageant.

Ronnel Homu walked a way with R150 000 cash prize and other goodies.

She says that when her name was called to be part of the top five, it was a dream come true. “I was excited, shocked and humbled at the same time.

I hope to continue to inspire young girls and boys and educate them on the importance of education.

I thank everyone who supported me prior to the finals and also Dr Precious Motsepe and Patrice Motsepe for giving me such a platform.”

She also met her idol, TV personality, Bonang Matheba.

Matheba was part of the judging panel along with hip hop star, Ricky Rick and Stephanie Weil.

“It felt so surreal to see my idol standing in front of me.

Knowing that I made an impression on someone I look up to, was reassuring.”

Miss Mamelodi Sundowns was Kadija Makhanya from KwaZulu-Natal and the first princess was Pearl Tsehi from Gauteng.
