18 year old Lisa Minnaar proved that hardwork, discipline and determination is a winning formula, after obtaining eight distinctions.
Minnaar says that her secret was preparing for the final exam early in the year and not waiting for the last quarter to study.
“I had a schedule which guided my study patterns.
“I would set a daily or weekly target of how much I wanted to study and I made sure I sticked to it and that is what helped me ,” said Minnaar.
The bright learner told Hoedspruit Herald that she is over the moon with her pass and it gives her a rewarding feeling.
The Lowveld Academy Alumni will be studying Actuarial Sciences at the University of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape.
Her message to the 2020 Grade 12 learners is that they must go for it and give their all to their studies.
“Be prepared to miss-out on social events and unnecessary activities , because your are investing in your future and in the end it will be worth it, ” she added.
The youngster also attributes her great achievement to her teachers, parents and the community for the great support with her education.
She concluded by saying that she will miss Hoedspruit’ surrounding, the wildlife and the people as she believes there is no other place like it
