The Thusanang Trust has its operating centre near Haenertsburg and is a leader in Early Childhood Development (ESD) in the area.

It has been operating for over 25 years and has under its care 205 operating centres each with approx. 25 children, a total of 5125 children benefitting from the work of Thusanang.

It also operates a mobile unit which serves areas without a crèche, this Unit cares for 250 children.

The centre employs 253 Practitioners, who are trained and certified by Thusanang.

The Global Grant to the value of R960 000  ensured the training and certification of 28 Practitioners, who graduated 8 November.

The Rotary Club of Haenertsburg appreciates the hard work put in by Rtn. Peter Stewart – Thompson from the RC Haenertsburg and Past District Governor Prof.Dr. Bernhard Maisch of the RC Marburg.

A short while ago a team from Marburg visited South Africa to monitor progress of the project and expressed their thanks for a job well done.

Both Rotary Clubs hope to continue this co-operation to the benefit of the young children in our area.
