Phalaborwa: Foskor issues out a warning to the public
Foskor would like to warn members of the public about this unfortunate fraudulent job scams that are advertised on recruitment websites or job portals.
It has been brought to their attention that there are continuous fraudulent job advertisements in various platforms such as Internet, Facebook and related social networks, using FOSKOR (Pty) Ltd name.
These job scams are aimed at soliciting money from unsuspecting and desperate job seekers.
Foskor would like to warn members of the public about this unfortunate fraudulent job scams that are advertised on recruitment websites or job portals.
“We have also noted some incidences where unsuspecting Jobseekers have been approached on Facebook.”
How to identify Job Scam or potential Fraudulent Job Advertisement: Web-based or online scams:
• The perpetrators falsely use our company name (Foskor) and mention Foskor HR Manager name.
• The perpetrators frequently use mobile numbers instead of official company landline numbers. Foskor only use landline number for job enquiries.
• The enquiry email address provided does not reflect the name of our company (Foskor) or it is made to look like Foskor email. The correct Foskor email address ends with foskor.co.za
• Unsuspecting Job seekers are requested to pay an upfront fee for Administration purposes, Interviews, Uniform, Medical test, Access card, etc.
• Unsuspecting Job seekers are either asked to an interview over the phone and/or they are asked to come to Foskor for interviews and that is when they realise they have been scammed.
• Victims of the scam are usually guaranteed work before they even submit their CVs and called for an interview.
• The perpetrators will often ask recipients to complete bogus recruitment documentation, such as application forms, terms and conditions of employment or visa forms. The Foskor name and logo is sometimes featured on the documentation without authority, which amounts to fraud. Social Network-based (Facebook-online)
• The perpetrators approach the unsuspecting victims on Facebook and claim that they work for Foskor and there are opportunities.
They will request that you submit your CV to them and ask for a facilitation fee or bribe.
What should you do if confronted with a possible job scam?
Foskor would never ask for cash. Our jobs are advertised on our website: www.foskor.co.za and local community newspapers.
