Robbed items recovered after mall robbery

The speedy reaction by the Police led to the recovery of robbed items after a business robbery that took place Wednesday 2 October at Mahlakung Mall in the Sekororo area within the Maake policing precinct outside Tzaneen.

The Police have since launched an extensive manhunt for the suspects involved.

“It is alleged that a group of suspects, four armed with firearms, attacked security guards on patrol, tied them up and robbed them cellphones.The perpetrators then proceeded to the premises and broke into three clothing stores and one cellphone store, grinned the safes open and loaded cellphones, clothes and shoes into large bags.The suspects also managed to take an undisclosed amount of cash,” Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said

The Police were notified and responded immediately supported by other role players.

“On arrival, they found that the suspects have already escaped into nearby bushes and a manhunt ensued,” said Ngoepe.

“At a certain spot a large amount of goods believed to be part of the robbed items were found. The Police managed to recover 10 large bags full of cellphones, clothes,  shoes, one hammer, two grinders and one crowbar.”

The Police have opened a case of business robbery for further investigations. The suspects are still unknown and no arrests have been made.
