It is no surprise that two of the brightest learners among many in St. George College were crowned Mr and Miss St George College 2019 on Tuesday, September 20.
Jessica Moyana (16) and Thabiso Maphoto (16) are the newly crowned queen and king of the school.
Moyana said she is amazed that she eventually won this year, after the title slipped from her hands few years back.
“This time I was more confident and I didn’t try too hard, I took the natural route and didn’t use any make-up.”

The current Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi motivated me to be more comfortable in my own skin.
The Grade 11 learner said that she would not have won without her mother, Yvonne Moyana who was with her throught the preparation stage.
Maphoto also said he is excited to have won the title and in the past he used to wish to enter pageants but he was intimidated.
“This time I was more confident and prepared, I’m glad I faced my fears,’ he said.The school head master, Joya Varughese, said that the two learners are disciplined and she wishes them well in their reign and studies.
