The Mayor of the Greater Tzaneen Municipality, Councillor Maripe Mangena has adopted Bakgaga High School in Makhubidung Village.
Mangena will work with the school to ensure that learning improves and the school improves its pass rate.
Mangena has also committed to fund the summer enrichment programme which began on Monday at the school.

Addressing learners and educators at the school on Monday, Mangena urged the grade 12 learners to follow a career in agriculture as agriculture is the major economic activity in the Greater Tzaneen Municipal area.
The municipality has also guaranteed a bursary for any learner who intends to enroll for any agriculture related course at any recognized institution of higher learning next year.
Mangena further encouraged the learners to use the remaining three weeks wisely.
