TZANEEN: Public swimming pool closed until further notice

The Greater Tzaneen Municipality has since apologised for inconveniences caused by the delay in opening the pool up for the public.

Residents of Tzaneen and surrounding areas have been wondering why the town pool has not yet opened for public use.

Letaba Herald contacted the Greater Tzaneen Municipality (GTM) communications team on Monday to inquire as to what may be causing the delay.

“An internal risk investigation always conducted into the sales of tickets for the swimming pool flagged the arrangements that we have with the lodge next to the pool. It was advised that proper arrangements which are in line with financial regulations are made for the sale of tickets. We are in the process of making arrangements that are consistent with laws governing municipalities.

“We will therefore advise in due course what the new arrangements will be,” stated Vutivi Makhubele, who is a member of the communications and marketing team at GTM.

More details will be given as the information is made available to Herald.
