Dlamini was speaking at the 11th N’wamitwa Day anniversary celebration at the Vatsonga Valoyi Cultural Village in N’wamitwa Village outside Tzaneen recently.
“We can see that there is a big difference in the community and that the work you have done for your people is big in the last 11 years.
“We would like to thank you our sister for being exemplary, you are a shining star and your work proves to us that we have a mother who works together with her community,” explained Dlamini- Zuma.
The minister promised that in the next 12 months the whole of government will visit the village to see the developments.
The objective of the day was to celebrate the 11 years of the chief’s success on the throne and the community developments under her leadership.
This year’s theme was ‘redefining purposeful governance and service for the next decade’.
Vatsonga people from all over the country graced the event mainly dressed in their traditional attire with most females dressed in Xibelani (Xitsonga dance skirt). The day showcased the culture and traditions of the Vatsonga people.
Some of the projects that her majesty has established during the last 11 years include; The Xitsavi Library Centre, a community garden, the Khalanga Guest Lodge and a satellite police station just to name but a few.
Dignitaries such as the Deputy Minister for Police Cassel Mathale; MEC for CoGTA, Basikopo Makamu; Greater Tzaneen Municiplaity Mayor, Maripe Mangena among others honoured the occasion.
The crowd was entertained by different kinds of traditional dancers and Nkowankowa Choir among others.
Hosi N’wamitwa told the congregation that she is currently working on building a shopping mall for her people.
“We are tired of seeing our people take a taxi to town, just to withdraw R100, the centre will have ATM’ which make the lives of the residents easy,” she concluded.
Overall it was a joyous day for the local community.
