Hundreds of residents from Maphalle Village protested outside the Bolobedu Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 21 August demanding the release of nine fellow villagers arrested for the killing of two alleged criminals.

Two young men, July Mudau (21) and Tebatso Mogale (27) were neck laced by the mob on Sunday who accused them of terrorising the community and killing a community member a week ago.

The protesters who arrived by taxis, went back home after they were told that the suspects will only appear in court on Thursday.
