TZANEEN: Door open for local social entrepreneurs

Successful applicants will be invited to Johannesburg for further assessment by a group of adjudicators who will help guide them in the right direction.

Barloworld calls for all social entrepreneurs to apply for the Imbewu program which provides support for start-up social entrepreneurs.

It is open to organisations or individuals who address social challenges in their community in the field of education, automotive value chain, agroprocessing, agriculture, green economy or groundbreaking social innovation/ technology.

The initiative can assist in three ways by giving funding, financing or incubating the community project specifically tailored for each organisation.

The programme was officially launched on Friday, May 31 and applications will be closed on Wednesday, July 31.

The team started their road campaign in Polokwane on Thursday, June 20 and concluded the Limpopo programme at Lenyenye Community Hall on Friday, June 21.

They will be heading to the other eight provinces and will only be visiting two areas per province.
