On Friday, March 8 an initiative aimed at creating economic opportunities for South African women was launched by Google South Africa.

On the day, Google launched 18 new Womenwill chapters across sub-Saharan Africa wherein Angela Shikwambana, who is the Founder of all the Masingita Andiswa Holdings companies (private venture firm), small business accountant at Masingita Accounting, public speaker, founder of Lindo by Valerie and ‘Start Up Grind Polokwane’ in partnership with Google startup, will be hosting an event in line with the Google South African Womenwill cause.

Shikwambana told the Mopani Herald that she was first given an opportunity to be a chapter lead in Limpopo for Google South Africa Womenwill and shortly thereafter, she was appointed to be the director of Google Business Group (GBG) Polokwane as well.

“GBGs are independent communityled groups formed by passionate business professionals and company owners who share knowledge about Google products and web technologies for local business success,” stated Shikwambana.

She further exclaimed that each GBG chapter organises a variety of events like social gatherings, workshops, online hangouts, and more events where likeminded business professionals can connect, learn, and get inspired.

“Topics range from how to better market your company and successfully sell products or services online via Google AdWords, to how to improve internal and/or external business processes for the organisation via Google Apps, and more. You don’t need any technical skills to attend GBG events since all the discussions are business-focused,” concluded Shikwambana.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 1 in NkowaNkowa section A at Benvenuto 3D Food Studio.
