After the brutal murder of a 21-year-old man on Easter Sunday, communities around Tzaneen are not seeing eye-to-eye.

The murder of Tumi Maake whose body was found dumped in the Molototsi river that separates Ga-Moshakga and Ga-Mamakata, has left communities ready for war.

Motsinoni community members and those of Ga-Mamakata are disgruntled as fingers are being pointed in all directions.

The Station Commander, Colonel CKS Serakwana took the lead in the matter by appealing to the chief leader to assist in finding a way forward.

He explained that it would require all community members to work together with the police in order to prevent any outbreaks and retaliation that could lead to more people losing their lives.

The Bolobedu SAPS Spokesperson, Captain Kgetha Ramphele told the LETABA HERALD that the message they are trying to convey to the communities was to plead with everyone to assist positively with what the police are trying to do.

“We were in talks of to try and enhance the relationships between the police and the community and to make them aware that the police cannot combat crime alone. The Station Commander sighted a few cases of murders that occurred at Motsinoni village and that the police are effecting arrest of the known suspects,” stated Captain Ramphele.
