The Minister for the Public Service and Administration, Ayanda Dlodlo, officially opened the Ettian Tshabane Multi- Media Centre at Mayeke Higher Primary School in Xikundu Village outside Giyani.

The Multi-Media Centre which hosts about 21 computers for the 500 learner capacity school, was donated by the cellular phone giant, MTN in 2015 at the behest of the late Minister for the Public Service and Administration, Collins Chabane, as part of his efforts to bring in technology development for learners in the rural village.

The late Minister Chabane had adopted the school in 2014 and became its patron with the aim of bringing advancement to the school and its learners.

The centre is named after the late Minister’s father, Ettian Tshabane, a staunch educator, committed public servant and one of the primary school pioneers who also served the longest as its principal.

Minister Dlodlo, handed over books to the school to start a school library and also donated school uniforms and shoes to 101 needy pupils to selected learners from disadvantaged backgrounds within the community.
