MAGOEBASKLOOF: Five killed in head-on collision

Five people were killed during a head-on collision on the R71 near Silvermist.

The incident occurred when a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota bakkie collided head-on at around 7:15 this morning.

Matome Moremi, spokesperson of the Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety, confirmed the event and stated that, “The Corolla was travelling to Polokwane and the bakkie to Tzaneen.”

He went further to say that, “The driver of Toyota bakkie was driving on the wrong side of the road, facing the oncoming sedan, and then collided head-on.”

The names of the deceased have not yet been released as the next of kin still needs to be informed of the tragic happenings.
