TZANEEN: No Letaba Show on Saturday

For the first time ever, this year’s Letaba Show will be held from Wednesday to Friday only, excluding the Saturday.

This was announced recently after meetings with Agri Letaba, custodians of the Show, other role players and the Show committee.

“In recent years the attendance figures for the Saturday has been steadily decreasing. Furthermore many of our exhibitors pack up on a Friday night. This is against rules and agreements, yet, we are struggling to stop them from doing that. In the interest of keeping our Show dynamic and offering our patrons a fair deal, we have decided to close Friday night,” Naomi Excell, Show Organizer, said this week.

Friday, the 9th of August, is a public holiday.

It is expected that a record number of visitors will attend the Friday because of it being closed on Saturday. It still gives all residents a fair opportunity to attend the Show.

The focus in recent years has been to move away from the flea market tendency with a lot of focus on agriculture and industrial exhibitions with top artists performing during the Show.

This year will be no different.

The 2019 Show dates are Wednesday 7th of August to Friday 9th of August.
