MOPANI: KLG football programme released

According to the plan, all new and old teams will have the whole of February reserved for club affiliations as well as players’ and officials’ registrations.

The 2019 season of the Kaizer Letsoalo Games (KLG) Soccer League is bound to create a fantastic atmosphere for all participants and followers of KLG Sport.

This is particularly so if the programme released by the officials of the sport committee of KLG is anything to go by.

The year plan of KLG Sport is reported to be the product of weeks of intensive planning by the leadership of KLG sport.

Earlier, it was reported that the management of KLG deliberately ensured that the whole of January and part of February months are left untouched in order to give people the chance to focus on school matters.

Most youth in the communities need this time to dedicate all their energy and time to registrations in various tertiary institutions particularly universities and TVET colleges.

The Chairman of KLG Sport, Marupine Sape, emphasised the need to respect the education of all in the communities.

“It is important that we encourage the youth to take education seriously.

That is why as KLG we believe in bringing together sport and education,” said Sape.

According to the plan, all new and old teams will have the whole of February reserved for club affiliations as well as players’ and officials’ registrations.

This process was officially proclaimed to start last week Friday and will close on February 23, 2019.

The official kick-off date for the 2019 season of the KLG Soccer League is Saturday March 02.

All new teams intending to join KLG Sport will automatically participate in the Super division of the league.

The allocated period for affiliations and registrations will provide adequate time for teams to do proper registrations of their clubs and players.

The administrator of KLG Sport, Trilly Mogoboya, said that most problems in the long season of KLG Soccer League usually result from improperly registered players.

Players’ registrations take a lot of time and tend to delay the kick off of the league. This new strategy is expected to make sure that KLG delivers the most fantastic season of football.

A general meeting (of all clubs and referees) will be hosted on Sunday 10 March.

This is a very important meeting as it will set the tone for how the proceedings of the league will run the whole year.

It is reported that the much-anticipated high-key top 8 competitions in the form of KLG Supa 8 (for Super division teams) and KLG Top 8 Challenge (for Premier division teams) will kick-off on 30 March and will end on April 07 when the finals are staged.

The KLG Easter Tournament is set for April 19-22. Dates for affiliation for this prestigious tournament will be announced at the end of February.

Further tournaments interspersed in the league programme include the KLG MaAfrika Freedom Cup (15,16,17 June 2019), the KLG Schools Sport Event (August ) 9,10,11, the KLG-Bahlabine Heritage Tournament (14-24 September) and the Pamo Cup (December 21, 2019 –January 01, 2020).
