Tzaneen: Please help a family in need

One local samaritan refuses to watch a child-headed family from Mokwakwaila outside Tzaneen continue to suffer on his watch.

The four orphaned siblings are living on a wooden one-roomed shack which they all share.

They found themselves in the situation after both their parents died, their father passed away in April this year, while their mother passed away in 2014.

The family has not had an income for the past few months, because their social grant was stopped due to the lack of some documentation.

Their sister who does not stay with the four siblings has added fuel to the fire by refusing to give them their father’s death certificate so they can renew their social grant.

The young family which ranges between the ages of 11 to 18 years are currently living on hand outs and piece jobs from the community.

One of the kids, an 18 year old girl is currently pregnant and has since stopped going to school because of the pregnancy.

Marcus Monareng and his friends are raising money to build the family a better house and have so far managed to buy bricks and few bags of cement to start the building process.

“I know the pain of living in an impoverished home, I grew up poor with not much. When I see their situation, it takes me back to my unfortunate childhood and this has caused me and my friends to take a stand and help these kids to live a better life,” Monareng says.

Monareng pleads to the community and businesses to help with any building materials or any form of donations which can help improve the lives of the family.

For more information or donations please call Marcus Monareng on 079 072 2920.
